Greetings!

When we return from the Labor Day holiday, we will be involved in ITBS testing. The testing will begin on Tuesday, September 4th and continue through Friday, September 7th. If at all possible, please schedule any doctor/dental appointments in the afternoon.

School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 5th, during the afternoon. These pictures always come out better if students wear bright colored shirts/blouses.

Our athletic teams and cheerleaders have been hard at work. If you have an opportunity to attend one of the games or meets, I know that they would appreciate it. There is a home football game on Thursday, September 6th, at DCHS beginning at 4:30 and a home softball game on Friday, September 7th, at Jenkins Field beginning at 4:30. The cross country team has a meet on Tuesday, September 4th.

Progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday, September 11th.

Our after school program is in full swing. This is wonderful opportunity for your student to get assistance with his/her homework in a safe, supervised environment. There are several certified teachers who work with this program. The fee is $25.00 per semester and the program runs Monday through Thursday from after school until 5:30.

We still have a few "brown envelopes" that have not been turned in at this point. If you have yours at home, please send it in with your student on Tuesday.

Thank you for working with us in the afternoons during carpool. Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to us in dealing with busses and cars in the mornings and the afternoons. We are working to get them loaded and you out of the parking lot as soon as possible, but as you are aware there is only one entrance and exit to the school! The loading time has been cut down considerably with the new system. Again, we appreciate your assistance. If you have not picked up your students by 3:30, we will have them walk upstairs to the lobby area. They will be able to see from the window as you turn in the parking lot and will come downstairs to meet you. This way they will be out of the weather and in an area where they can continue to be supervised.
