Our students and teachers have been working hard to get ready for the CRCT. Testing will be every morning from 8:30 - 11:30, April 21 through April 25.
To continue the information on the work to be done at Dade Middle School - The old vocational building will undergo a transformation this summer. The project will begin in July and will continue into the early part of next school year. Currently there are two large rooms, one smaller room, and several offices. Due to reconfiguring the building, we will have 5 regular sized classrooms and 1 large classroom and 3 offices. The old carpet will be replaced with tile and new white boards will be put in each room. This will allow us to have much needed additional classroom space and storage areas. While we will be inconvenienced for a few months, the rewards will be well worth it!
I would like to ask that if you have purchased a cell phone for your youngster that you occasionally check the messages and photographs on it. We live in a very fast paced, advanced technological age and our youngsters are very quick learners and very adept at using the latest technology. Unfortunately, they do not always make good choices as to the messages and pictures they send and receive. According to policy and documented in our student handbook, students are not to have cell phones at school. There are phones in the office that are available for student use in case of emergencies. Please take a few minutes to sit with your youngster and review what is on his/her cell phone. This is not an invasion of privacy; it is an opportunity to perhaps prevent personal information going out to individuals who would use it in unethical ways and out to sites that are inappropriate.
