- Several of our groups have been on field trips recently and I would like to take a minute to express to you how well they have behaved! At all of the attractions they have visited, at least one or more of the adults have made a point to tell our teachers that our students were some of the best behaved and most courteous students they had seen in a long time. Way to go, DMS!
- Basketball season is in its final couple of weeks.
- Baseball and soccer tryouts will be starting in mid-late February. Please be sure that your youngster has an up to date physical on file with Mrs. Morris. Students cannot try out if they do not have a physical on file.
- The band and chorus students will occupy the room on Monday! Our band students have been in the cafeteria and our chorus students have been in the vocational building for the past few months while the roof on the band/art building was re-roofed. The band/chorus room has new ceiling tiles and floor tiles and a new paint job. It really looks great! We are still a few weeks away from occupying the art room, but steady progress is being made. The ceiling tiles are in and the floor is scheduled to be painted soon.
- The DMS Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, February 1.
- 8th grade students have received information about the end of the year trip to Savannah. If you are interested in your child participating in this trip, please be sure to respond by the requested dates.
- I will be participating in the Developing High-performing Leaders At All Levels retreat in Atlanta on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
