Dr. Spivey has always been involved in church/community activities as well as professional organizations as she makes learning and serving a part of her life. While all of these activities have kept her very busy, she and her husband, George, make time to enjoy hiking, traveling, and spending time with family. They live in Scottsboro, Alabama, where Dr. Spivey was born and raised, and they attend Riverside Community Church.
